1. Taking a sample

Place 20-50ml of liquid sample into a beaker and mix well with a plastic spoon. Then apply 2-3 drops onto the prism surface. For carbonated beverages, it is necessary to mix well to remove all of the carbon dioxide from the sample.

2. Measuring Method

 ● Hand-Held Refractometers

1) Apply one or two drops of drink to the prism surface. Close the daylight plate and make sure the sample is distributed evenly over the prism while eliminating any air bubbles. 

2) Look through the eyepiece. Read the boundary line where the blue and the white color meet. This is the Brix(%).
