11am-11:45am Keynote Presentation: Nobel Prizes – Medals and Mistakes by Ruth Lewin Sime
Brief biography: Ruth Lewin Sime taught chemistry at Sacramento City College for over 30 years. She is the author of an award-winning biography of Lise Meitner, the physicist who was a co-discoverer of nuclear fission. Currently Ruth is writing about Meitner’s partner in the discovery, the chemist Otto Hahn.
